Center Denmark becomes a key player in the digital utility partnership
01. May. 2024
Center Denmark is now formally part of the government's new Utility Digitalization Program, focusing on data utilization and digitalization as crucial elements in the green transition of the utility sector.
Center Denmark specializes in the collection and presentation of utility data and acts as a collaborative platform between universities, utility companies, and businesses.
“We are very pleased with the invitation and look forward to contributing to the Utility Digitalization Program with the knowledge we have built up over recent years about the collection and presentation of utility data. It is essential for the green transition that we bring data into play to support research and the development of digital technologies for the utility sector,” says Søren Skov Bording, Director at Center Denmark.
The Utility Digitalization Program is part of the government’s digitalization strategy and aims to ensure that Denmark has a cohesive and digital utility sector. Among other things, the program will result in a structured and systematic collection and processing of data across the utility sector.
A More Cohesive Utility Sector
One of the most significant foundations for the transition to green energy is that our utility sector undergoes more and better digitalization and that data becomes more accessible. Across the utility sector, there is a need for better access to analyze consumption and utility data. Especially the cross-sectoral approach to data collection is essential. Søren Beltofte, Deputy Director at the Agency for Data Supply and Efficiency, confirms that utility data will be a driving force in the green transition and adds: “We look forward to collaborating with the utility sector and with companies that can build new, smart solutions using utility data.”
The Utility Digitalization Program addresses the utility sector’s need for deeper insights into development potentials and is expected to promote the transition to a more robust, flexible, and sustainable utility sector in Denmark.
